2. No cookies, no tracking
This website does not use analytics or tracking technologies. Your selected light or dark appearance is saved in your browser’s local storage under marcare-theme, solely to remember your preference. It is not transmitted to us and can be removed by clearing this site’s browser data. Fonts and hero media are hosted on our own server; no third-party font or media services are loaded.
3. Server log files
When you visit our website, our hosting provider automatically stores technical information (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser type, referrer) in server log files. This processing is based on Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR to ensure the secure and stable operation of the website. Log files are deleted after a short retention period.
4. Contact form and email
If you contact us via the contact form or by email, the data you provide (name, email address, subject, message and optional company/vessel) is processed solely to handle your enquiry and any follow-up questions (Art. 6 (1)(b) and (f) GDPR). The data is transmitted via encrypted connection (TLS) and stored in our email system. We delete the data once the purpose no longer applies, unless statutory retention obligations require otherwise. To prevent abuse, the contact form uses a server-side keyed hash of your IP address and an attempt timestamp to enforce a 60-second submission limit (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). This rate-limit store does not contain raw IP addresses. Entries expire after 60 seconds and are removed on the next admitted attempt. This protection sets no cookies and creates no browser session.
5. Recipients
Your data is not transferred to third parties unless this is necessary to fulfil a contract or we are legally obliged to do so. Our hosting provider processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21 GDPR). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen.
